Obama did say in his 2008 Presidential campaign that he would “fundamentally change America”.  Is his apparent incompetence an integral part of carrying out this pledge because he is certainly making good on it?  Have Americans been fooled into thinking that Obama is incompetent while he is brilliantly dismantling her as a world power?  The key here would be to understand his ideology and thus his motives.  If he believes that America has been the bully in world affairs and needs to be taken down a few notches, then he is certainly succeeding. Capitalism is the economic system which produces the most wealth, and the empirical evidence of the last 250 years makes this clear.  The apparent problem is that it is based on the profit motive which is inherently selfish and allegedly evil.  All previous arguments made by economists in favor of capitalism have been based on practicality.  No one was able to articulate its moral validation until Ayn Rand.  Moral arguments trump practical or economic arguments because they are more fundamental. The specifics of the various issues mentioned in this article are entire subjects all by themselves.  The brevity of their coverage is made necessary by the goal of the article to give a brief overview of the specific issue of immigration into the US—and its solution.

It is truly a tragedy that America is losing her rights and freedoms primarily because of the ignorance of her citizens–which has been abetted by government schools (public education).  The only long term solution is to educate Americans so that they understand the true nature of these crucial issues and their interrelationships.  As this article indicates, the solution depends on an understanding of individual rights and upon what these rights logically and philosophically depend.  Objectivism is the only philosophy that provides comprehensive answers.
